Busy few days

I’ve had a busy few days so haven’t had too much time for cardmaking. Yesterday I went to Michaels as I heard they had some copic ciao markers on clearance. I managed to get 49 of them. They are normally $5.99 each but these were on clearance for .97 cents! Such a great deal. I don’t have too many copic markers as they are so expensive, so this was a nice way to add to my collection.

As we left Michaels and were driving home, we noticed all of these wild poppies growing by the side of the road, so we had to stop and take a picture or two. I love poppies. Our last dog was called Poppy. I’ve never seen Poppies growing wild before so it was a treat.

Once I got home, I got some happy mail from Taylored Expressions. I was so excited to get some of their new patriotic release.

I was not born in America, but I love to make patriotic things! So thats the card I will be sharing today.

Basically I just layered patterned paper with a patriotic theme using a sketch from Mojo Monday #532. For the center panel I used the layering stencils from Taylored Expression to make the fireworks background. I just love how it looks. The sentiment is from Taylored Expression also and I stamped that with Simon Says Stamp soft navy ink and cut it with the matching dies. I added a ribbon on top and some die cut stars and that was it!

Here is a list of some of the items I used for the card.
