I’ve really been into making cards using dies lately. This one is using a snowman die from Cottage Cutz.
This was a more simple card to put together. I cut the dies with white cardstock and colored them with copic markers.
I layered all of the pieces together, which was pretty easy. I added some highlights with a white gel pen and added some dots to the scarf.
I used some cute patterned paper for the background and then stamped the sentiment “There’s snow one like you”. I adhered everything to a white cardbase and added a little enamel heart to finish it off.
Its funny to be making fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas cards when its still so hot outside but as a card maker I have to think ahead. This card is for Thanksgiving and I love how colorful it is.
I stamped the image and did some basic copic coloring. No shading other than a tiny bit on the turkey. I used a few different fall colors and I really like how it turned out.
For the background I used two different patterned papers and then just adhered the image on top using some craft foam to give it dimension. I added a few little fall colored gems and thats it. Quite quick and simple.
It’s been a hard week. Just over a week ago we found out that one of my husbands brothers passed away so we’ve been dealing with that and having family in town. Then Utah had hurricane force winds that caused so much damage. Thankfully we didn’t have any damage but thousands of people are still without power. We even had to push the burial back a day as there were lots of downed trees in the cemetery.
Things are slowly getting back to normal so I’ve been back in my craft room creating again. Though my craft room is so messy right now, it’s hard to even find anything in there!! One of my daughters has offered to help me organize so hopefully this weekend it will start to look a lot better!
I made this Halloween card the other day.
I love owls and I love making Halloween cards, so this was fun.
I used the new stamp set from MFT called “Halloween Hoo” and also used their “Ghoulish Greetings” background stamp.
I chose some purple cardstock and stamped the background stamp in purple to give a tone on tone look. I then matted that in black cardstock.
For the main image, I cut a circle from white cardstock and used the MFT mini edge stencil with purple and black distress oxide inks to create the clouds. I framed the circle in black to help it stand out.
I stamped and colored the images and attached them to the circle, propping up the owls on some foam pads.
I then attached everything to a grey card base, added a sentiment strip and the card is done!
You can find the stamp set and background stamp at mftstamps.com . See you soon!
Its funny to be thinking about fall/autumn as we are still hovering around 100 degrees here in Northern Utah! I love fall but I don’t like the fact that it means winter is just around the corner. So I always leave summer behind with mixed feelings.
This card was made using a stamp set from Taylored Expressions called “cutting edge”.
I stamped the image and colored it with copic markers. I then used the coordinating dies to cut the image out, leaving quite a bit of white space at the bottom. I layered it with some fall colored patterned paper.
I then stamped the sentiment “autumn wishes”, from the same stamp set, in the bottom right corner. I added some tiny images from the stamp set around the sentiment, along with some fall colored gems. I then matted it with black cardstock and added it to a white card base.
It’s been a while since I posted. Our family went on a vacation to beautiful Montana and Northern Idaho. It was so nice to get away for a while and to see some beautiful country. Whenever we take our yearly roadtrips, we always imagine what it would be like to live on a farm in the middle of nowhere. Maybe one day we will get to experience that!
So I am back home and trying to get into the routine of cardmaking again. I’ve been focusing on Halloween lately so I will share this card that I made with some Spellbinders dies.
I started by using some distress inks on the background and then stamping the trees. Everything else on the card is die cut from the Sunday drive/Halloween dies from Spellbinders. I cut everything from colored cardstock and pieced it all together. It took some time as there are a lot of small pieces, but I love how it turned out.
Maggie wasn’t feeling good last week and her ears were bleeding. Initially we thought she had allergies and made her ears bleed by scratching them so much, but it turned out she had major infections in both ears. After a few hours at the vet’s office, she came home with lots of medication. Some of the medication is in her ears and it gradually disperses over time. Its made her pretty deaf so thats been interesting. She’s still not back to normal but she’s improving every day.
I’ve been having fun making some Halloween cards. This set was made with a stamp set from Taylored Expressions.
I stamped the images and colored them with copic markers. I then used the coordinating dies to cut them out.
I used some Halloween cardstock for the background and stamped and embossed the sentiment on a black strip of cardstock. I adhered everything to a grey cardbase.
Its been a while! I didn’t realize how long it had been since I had posted on the blog. Life has been busy and I haven’t had a lot of time to make any cards. I did make a few yesterday and I’ve also started working on some wooden decor for Halloween!
Here’s one of the cards I made yesterday:
I used the stamp set “Space Explorer” from MFT. I stamped the images and colored them with copic markers.
For the background I used distress oxide inks and then I splattered it with water, then white paint and perfect pearls. I then adhered the images on to the background. I matted it with black cardstock and glued it to a white card base.
I then stamped the sentiment on some white paper and then added some distress ink to it to help it blend in more.
Despite all that is going on in the world and the challenges we all face in our daily lives, there are always things to be thankful for. This is something I have needed to be reminded of a lot lately as we are facing a lot of trials. So I made this simple card today.
I started with a white card base and then added a layer of kraft cardstock. I then embossed some white cardstock.
I cut out “thank you” in white card stock and then its shadow in kraft cardstock and layered those together.
I adhered everything together and that finished the card. I really like its simplicity and I love kraft and white together.
